Paris 2012: McLaren P1

McLaren revealed their highly anticipated new supercar, the P1, at the Paris Motor Show this year. Flanked on the stand by similarly coloured versions of its existing road car, the MP4-12C, the P1 was one of the most talked about new arrivals in the run up to the Paris show and it didn't fail to live up to expectations.

Much of the detail of this model remains unknown. It's expected to go on sale next year, cost about £800,000, and have a production run of less than 500 units. Beyond that, a lot is a mystery. Engine, transmission, and other technical specifications remain unrevealed at this point, although with looks like this and a company like McLaren behind the reins, it's not much of a leap to expect something a bit special.
