The Austin Mini Cooper S. One of the coolest cars in the entire history of automotive, well, history! As are all classic Minis. Compact, stylish, and very practical, it was equally happy driving around town or taking on the local rally course, as it did once again on the Goodwood Forest Rally Special Stage. Not bad for a car 46 years old, eh?
This particular example was third in its class in the 1964 Monte Carlo rally, driven by Rauno Aaltonen. First and second? Yeah, they were Minis as well. The first place in class was also the overall rally winner as well!

Certainly a classic with a really proud legacy! I feel like my part of the world really missed out on something by not having them be too common. We've got the classic muscle cars instead I guess, which are certainly fun in their own way but a very different beast! I need more exposure to classic Minis. Another great rally photo!
